$1500, 4x4, period correct mods, red interior.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Part of me want a tow rig for automotive adventures, and this ticks all the boxes, but I should be moving soon so spending lots of money isn't exactly tip top planning(but it would make moving easier)

And you came here to be talked out of it?
Only way that happens is if someone sees this and beats you to the truck lol

Hold out for a square body.

I like it,
Looks super clean. That paint is so fitting for a tow rig. That's a lot of truck for 1500$

I need it but I also don’t need it. might find out what sort of work it really needs

But owner sm ogs and it's as cheap as a running example can be

OK. You don’t need it.
And since you don’t need it, can you possibly check it out for me?

I would too. For 1500 that could be a steal, esp smog ged, if the work isn’t bad.

Talk you OUT of it? No can do.

You don’t need something to work on when you’re trying to move.
Also the truck is probably complete garbage stay away
*Goes and googles “hours to drive to humboldt”*

... because it may not have been clear: I’m actually being serious. If you’re not gonna buy, can you check if it’s a 350 or 454 and if it’s got the Z82 towing package?
And yes. I really DO need to pull 10k lbs.

Driver’s side door is sagging. Hinge pin bushings aren’t too hard to do, and that’s good because you’ll be replacing them every 2 weeks. The 10 bolt rear end is barely adequate in a car, so they’re awesome in a 6,000 pound truck. The 4L60E transmission is the same story, and at 150k miles it’s either been rebuilt recently or it’s about to die. Also at that mileage, plan to rebuild the front suspension and steering.
I had a GMT400 half ton Suburban. It's the reason I now have a GMT800 3/4 ton Suburban. I won't touch another one with a 1,000 foot pole with a flamethrower on the end of it.

Easy. Wrong year. 95 got the better interior, and 96 gets you votec heads for 50 more hp than that truck.

Find a 2500?

I’m still traumatized by a shit rebuild on a 4l60e for a gmt400. Pieces of shit.

Time and time again I see instances where the original lasts 100-150k miles, then it's rebuilt and the rebuild lasts 5-10k. Then, a never ending battle ensues. My grandpa went through 7 rebuilds on a 700R4 before finally converting to a TH350 in his half ton GMC with a 6.2 diesel.

If you’re buying it to tow, get a 2500.

That looks god damn nice for the money.
If it was near me I’d be all over it.

that thing would fetch $4-5k here in the northeast.

Got a rebuild for a fairly clean gmt400 that needed a powertrain. Once it started it started to piss out of the input shaft. Fantastic.
